| The 2011 Staples Global EcoEasy Challenge was held at the Newseum in Washington, D.C. on April 13, 2011. At the finals event, Team Silver Monkeys from the University of Cincinnati was awarded the $25,000 grand prize for their concept, "The EcoEasy Button." In addition, two runners-up were awarded $5,000 each, Team Cyrus from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore for "The Adjustable Standard Binder" and Team Silver Monkeys for their other concept "The Folio." Staples, in conjunction with the Rochester Institute of Technology's Golisano Institute for Sustainability, created the EcoEasy Challenge to provide students from leading universities worldwide with the opportunity to compete to create the best concept for an environmentally preferable office product. |
